TAPING THERAPY:

Taping is a drug-free therapy that supports the healing of many diseases and relieves pain. The range of possibilities includes, among other things, the treatment of muscle contractions, joint instability, lymphatic edema, incontinence and menstrual pain. Taping has become essential in modern therapy. This effective concept has its place in high-level sport. The patient retains full mobility. There are few sports disciplines that do not use Taping to support the athlete during training.

THE TAPE: The Tape is an elastic band made of pure cotton, which adheres to almost all surfaces of the body thanks to a hypoallergenic acrylate adhesive layer. Free of any active component, its restorative effect is solely due to its elastic properties and the mechanical effects resulting from its application technique.

The tape remains active regardless of the patient's activity (at work, in sports, while showering, swimming and for all daily tasks). The therapy therefore maintains its effect as long as the Tape remains in place.

QUALITY: A multitude of distributors sell Tapes and no distributor has its own factories. World production is in China. Two major distributors share the French market because they offer training to health professionals: Kinesio and Ktape.

Kinesio tapes are considered the best on the market and Ktape is considered good value for money.

OPERATION: With each movement, the Tape stimulates receptors in the skin that transmit these stimulations to the muscles, joint capsules and ligaments (an effect called proprioception). In addition, the elasticity of the Tape lifts the tissues, thus allowing better blood and lymphatic circulation. The Tape is active for the entire duration of its wear, 24 hours a day.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE: The area must be shaved beforehand. Prepare the skin with an alcohol wipe. The strips must be applied without tension on 1cm at the ends. The glue of the strips is activated by heat, rub the strip to create a warming. The patient must not sweat within 15 minutes after application.
